Mount Shasta High School's girls basketball team played just the way coach Danny Hansen had in mind during a 56-44 victory over Fall River Jan. 26, 2010, during the Bears' Winter Carnival game.
The victory was Mount Shasta's fifth straight in Shasta Cascade League play and temporarily put them into a virtual tie for first place.
Jeana Michels scored a season-high 19, Amanda Amesbury 18, and Kismet Prosper 10.
Hansen praised Athena Oreck, Tori Weatherford and Janelle Jaegel for their efforts off the bench when the team had three players unable to suit up.
Rachel Abbott blocked several shots and "dominated both ends on the defensive and offensive boards," the coach said.
The Bears' win streak came to an end three nights later in Etna, and they'll take a 5-2 league record (10-9) overall into a Friday night contest at Modoc (0-7, 0-15).
Fall River was back alone in first place at 7-1, while Etna is 6-2.
