The Mt. Shasta Ski Park’s newest attraction, an 18-hole Disc Golf Park, opened in early June, and a tournament is scheduled to be held there July 21 and 22.

The Innova-equipped course at 6,000 feet, boasts breathtaking views, high-elevation disc travel conditions, and several downhill shots.

Mt. Shasta Shasta Disc Golf Park is powered, according to a Ski Park press release, by Subaru of Redding and Pepsi Distributing of Mt. Shasta.

Playing the course is free of charge, but it begins with a ride on the Douglas Chairlift ($20) to the first tee at the top of Douglas Butte. Refreshments are available at Black Diamond Grill.

The Shasta Shoot Out tournament sponsored by Subaru of Redding is scheduled for July 21 and 22. It will host 72 disc golfers and feature free overnight camping.

Another tournament, the Mt. Shasta Pepsi Open, is scheduled for Aug. 18 and 19.
