The Mount Shasta Thunder defeated the Mount Shasta Force in the South Siskiyou Little League major girls tournament championship game, 13-10, last month at Sisson Field.

Thunder coach Dan Taylor and Force coach Jon Cox both agreed it was a good game between two good teams.

Taylor said Thunder lead pitcher Robyn Eoff “did a heck of a job.”

“All the girls on each team gained experience and learned a lot during the season,” said Cox.

He said the Thunder was the more experienced team and “they played very well.”

The major girls league for players ages 11 and 12 included six south county teams, three from Mount Shasta and one each from Weed, Dunsmuir and McCloud. They also played games against three teams from Yreka.

“Overall the league was real good,” said Taylor. “The coaches were all dedicated.”
