It's no surprise to those who saw him play in high school and before that with the Siskiyou Knights that Patrick Lunney is fast, strong and elusive when he is running with a football in his hands.
Lunney showcased his talents in College of the Siskiyous' 2009 season-opener Saturday at Herschel Meredith Stadium in Weed, rushing for 250 yards and scoring two touchdowns in a 33-7 Eagles' win.
He scored Siskiyous' first touchdown of the season in the first quarter and helped set up the next score with a 36 yard run through traffic late in the first half which ended with COS on top, 13-0.
Siskiyous' defense showed great improvement from a year ago.
