The snow was hard and the weather changed frequently during the first day of the 2010 California Nevada Interscholastic Ski and Snowboard Federation state championships Monday, March 8 at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park.
Top high school skiers from two states competed Monday in giant slalom. They're scheduled to compete Tuesday in slalom, prior to the ski awards ceremony Tuesday evening at Sisson School in Mount Shasta.
Snowboard races are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
