The annual Top of the State Run has been slated for Saturday, July 18 during Weed’s Carnevale celebration and begins at College of the Siskiyous. Race day registration closes at 7:45 a.m.; the race begins at 8 a.m.
The race returns to its original course this year.
The 2 mile run/walk course follows Siskiyou Way and Shastina Drive, back to the college.
The 5 mile course heads out Siskiyou Way and Shastina Drive, then follows the loop around hidden Meadow Drive before returning to the college.
Awards will be given to the top three places in each division, with an overall award to the top male and female in both the 2 mile and 5 mile race.
Cost is $15 if registered by this Saturday, July 11; $20 for race day registration. Registration can be made in advance at the Weed Recreation and Parks Department located at Bel Air.
