Jake West of Weed took second place overall and first place in the boys 16-17 age division in a Junior Golf Association of Northern California Tournament in Lodi, Calif., last Wednesday and Thursday.
The 30th Tokay Junior was held at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club with approximately 175 players competing from ages 12-17.
After the first day of the two-day tournament the low score was four under par, and Jake was tied for third with one under par.
Players were then grouped according to their scores, and Jake played with the top two players on Thursday.
Jake shot one over par the second day to finish even for the tournament, while the overall tournament winner shot two under par and finished six under.
Jake, who will soon start his junior year at Weed High School, won his second consecutive Shasta Cascade League most valuable golfer award and helped lead the Cougars to their first Northern Section small schools golf championship.
