The story of a micro-brewery in the small northern California town of Weed and its banned bottle caps has made headlines in newspapers, on web blogs, radio stations, and brewing publications around the country in recent months, but owner Vaunne Dillmann is still waiting for a decision on his appeal of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s ruling.

Weed's annual Carnevale celebration features a parade, sports tournaments, the Top of the State race, music and dancing, a K9 show, carnival rides, and of course all of the food and refreshment booths and vendors.

“I am very excited to be coming home and to have the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much over the years,” said new Weed Elementary School principal Tag Pimentel. “I have been waiting 24 years for this opportunity to come along.”
