Lucille Rachel Griffin died at Providence Newberg Hospital on June 19, 2008.
Lucille was born in Huntington Beach, California on June 22, 1913. She moved to Mount Shasta from Red Bluff at age 16, graduating from Mount Shasta High School in 1933.
February 2, 1935 she married Eugene Griffin, a resident of Mount Shasta. Lucille resided in Mount Shasta until 2005 when she moved to Oregon to be closer to her daughter.
Lucille was a 59 year member of the Fidelity Chapter No. 131 of the Order of Eastern Star; a member of Wyntoon Investments; a Pink Lady for Mercy Mount Shasta Hospital; and belonged to several bridge clubs.
Lucille worked at Schuler’s Department Store while in high school; she was a telephone operator for Pacific Bell; worked for Drs. McGuire and Martin as a receptionist and medical assistant; also as receptionist to Ben Frank at his State Farm Insurance Agency.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara of Tualatin, Oregon; four grandchildren, Dennis (and wife Dorothy), David (and wife Annette), Daniel (and wife Jill), and Sandra (and husband Kevin); nine great-grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew (and wife Jennifer), Lauren, Stephen, Brittany, Tyler, Allison, Amanda and Annaka.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jake Lindner; her husband, Eugene Griffin; and her son-in-law, Gene Patchin.
With respect to her wishes, Lucille is to be cremated and her ashes to be interned along side her husband at Rose Hills Memorial Cemetery in Whittier, California.
