Esther Krause Williamson, 87 year old Weed resident, passed away at her home on Monday morning, May 4, 2009 following a long illness.
Esther was born September 24, 1921 in Rock Falls Wisconsin to Emanual and Mary Krause. She was raised in Wisconsin.
On Valentine’s Day 1948, Esther and John I. Williamson were married in Balboa Park San Diego.
Esther and John traveled all around the world following John’s service as a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps.
The couple also owned and operated Fun Farm Go Cart Rides in San Diego, which was an amusement park and dog and cat kennel. Following that, the couple ran a restaurant and hotel in Fallbrook.
Upon retiring in 1982, they moved to Weed and built John’s Barn that is now used for one of The Heal Therapy Programs.
Esther was known as a great cook and loved to cook for her large family. She was a great mother and grandmother who truly loved children. She not only raised her own seven children but helped take care of her many grandchildren.
Esther is survived by her husband, Col. John I. Williamson Sr. of Weed; and her seven children, Raymond Williamson of Mount Shasta, Mark Williamson of San Diego, Bruce Williamson of Washington State, John I. Williamson Jr. of Mount Shasta, Cynara Mursu of Loomis, Mary Kay Carmichael of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Esther Amaral of Yreka. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for this Thursday, May 14 at 3 p.m. in Girdner Funeral Chapel in Yreka. Pastor Ray Horst is officiating.
Burial will be on Thursday, May 21 in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
