Waterfowl field trip -- Join the River Exchange and Mount Shasta Area Audubon for the annual Bald Eagle and Winter Waterfowl Field Trip lead by veteran birder Chris Stromsness. View an array of wildlife on a full-day vehicle excursion through the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge.

Youth Nordic program -- Mt. Shasta Nordic Center offers a free non-competitive Youth Nordic Skate Ski Program for ages 8 to 14 on Jan. 31, Feb. 7, 28, and March 7. • Haiti quilt-blanket marathon -- Sew Unique Quilt Shop, 412 S. Mt. Shasta Blvd. in Mount Shasta, will host a quilt-blanket making marathon for Haiti kids beginning Saturday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. and ending Sunday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. Sew Unique will provide kits and material at a reduced cost for this project. Beginner sewers are welcome.
“Quilt-Blanketeers” will be provided refreshments, instruction, sewing tables, chairs and a few sewing machines. Participants may come and go as you like over the two day period. Bring sewing machine if available.
