Constance “Connie” Krouskup was born on September 26, 1926 in Weed, California. She grew up in Dunsmuir, California where she graduated from high school in 1943.
She then attended San Jose State College where she met her future husband Don. She graduated in 1947 with a teaching credential in Business.
Connie taught high school business classes for one year in Santa Cruz, California, before marrying Don Krouskup in Dunsmuir in 1948.
They resided in San Francisco and San Mateo prior to moving to Selma, California in December of 1953. Don opened a CPA practice in Selma and together they worked in this business until retiring in 1978.
During their retirement, Connie and Don traveled extensively and they enjoyed many wonderful times at the beach in southern California.
Connie was very active her whole life. She was involved in Selma Women’s Club, Valley Children’s Hospital Guild, San Joaquin Valley Town Hall, Selma Bethel Lutheran Home Guild, and the Ladies Club at Kings River Country Club. People knew that they could count on her. She worked hard to help these organizations thrive.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bridge with her ladies bridge group and golf.
She was the rock that held her family together, organizing and putting on all the traditional holiday gatherings and special family occasions.
Connie is survived by Don, her loving husband of 61 years. She is also survived by her two children, Roger and Elaine; four grandchildren, Caron Jensen and her husband Vince, Rod Krouskup and his wife Kasey, Marcus Castro and his wife Kim, and Mikele Castro; three great-grandchildren, Mia, Gavin and Kailey. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Callis of San Carlos, California.
A Celebration of Life was held in the family home on March19.
