George Wesley Cavnar, a resident of Weed, passed away on September 16, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. He was 68 years old.

George was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on February 28, 1942. He moved to Siskiyou County from North Hollywood 23 years ago.

George was a veteran of the US Navy. He worked as a fencing contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Cavnar of Weed; three sons, Jonathan Cavnar and Daniel Cavnar, both of Weed, and Peter Voelker of Oakdale, California; daughter, Jody Brady of Santa Rosa; brother, Cayce Cavnar of Washington; three sisters, Doris Mae Keiser of Yuba City, Mary Doutt of Arizona, and Laura Maybell Earle of Washington; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Cavnar, Homer Chapman, and Gene Parker.
A memorial service will be held on October 30 at 11 a.m. at the Weed Berean Church in Weed.
