Dusty Lee Mings died September 23, in a tractor trailer accident on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation in Oregon, while delivering meat products for Western Box Meat Distributors of Portland.

Dusty was born March 24, 1956 in Livermore, Calif. to Melvin Mings and Yvonne (Chase) Mings. He moved to Weed, Calif. as a youngster where he attended school and then joined the Navy.

After the Navy, Dusty moved to Vancouver, Wa. and, while living there, met his wife Patti.

Dusty loved his work and driving the truck. He took great pride in seeing to all his customers needs and keeping his rig in tip top shape. He loved the outdoors and nature, and especially elk hunting.

Dusty is survived by his wife Patti; stepchildren Chris and Ronnie, all of Vancouver; his mother, Yvonne Mings of Susanville; sisters Kelly (Randy) Amaral of Redding, Michelle (Brian) Wolf of Susanville; nephews Brock & Blaine Wolf, also of Susanville, along with many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Mel and his brother, Mark.

A memorial service will be held at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE12th Ave, Vancouver, Wa. at 3 p.m. on September 30, 2010.
