Doris “Granny” Doughty, 83, of Williams died October 4, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Weed, California.
A celebration of her life will be held at Silva’s Restaurant in Weed on Friday, October 29 from 5 to 8 p.m.
She was born on October 28, 1926 in Albany, Oregon to Levis and Harriet Morgan. Doris attended school in Siskiyou County.

On August 22, 1968 in Reno, Nevada, she married Robert Doughty who survives.

In 1967, they moved from Weed to southern Oregon. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting and crafts, reading, Indian powwows and going to casinos.

She was a College of the Siskiyous Eagle Nest volunteer; past president of American Legion Auxiliary; and past president of the Democratic Women’s Association.

In addition to her husband; survivors include two sons, Robert Bedsworth of Arizona and Larry Swearingen of Pacific, Washington; daughter, Gail Breshears of Weed, California; 8 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Her son, Orin Swearingen preceded her in death in 2009.
