Mount Shasta High School’s volleyball team defeated Weed Tuesday in Weed, 25-10, 25-8, 25-14.

The Bears improved to 5-2 in Shasta Cascade League and 8-6-1 overall.

Bears coach Greta Jones cited “consistent play, good serving and great passing” as key elements for her team.

Haleigh Tuiolemotu served for points 13 to 25 in game one for Mount Shasta. Haley Brown served for points 19 to 24 in game two.

Leah Maumasi and Janelle Jaegel did the setting for the Bears in game three.

JV Bears nip Cougars, 2-1

Mount Shasta’s JV team broke a first place tie with Weed by winning Tuesday evening’s head-to-head contest, 25-8, 23-25, 15-12.
