College of the Siskiyous head coach Tom Powers and sophomore Michelle Hoehn can now turn their full attention to basketball.


The Eagles lost their first round Northern California volleyball playoff match at Santa Rosa Tuesday night, Nov. 23, 2010, in three straight games, 8-25, 17-25, 20-25.


Powers, who coaches both volleyball and women's basketball, called it a "good season" for the Eagle spikers, who finished 17-12 overall after a third place finish in the Golden Valley Conference. The Eagles were seeded No. 15 in Northern California, Santa Rosa is No. 2.


Hoehn, a second year member of both the volleyball and basketball teams, was one of two Eagles to make the all-Golden Valley Conference team in volleyball this fall, along with teammate Camille Miller. Dacia Hale, Rachel Scalzo and Ila Sturges were honorable mention.


Siskiyous' women's basketball team will be seeking its first victory of the season after four losses in a home game against Mendocino Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. in Weed.
