Dunsmuir Tiger longjumper Katie McIntyre leaped to a first place medal during at the Northern Section Division IV Track and Field Championships May 20 in Cottonwood and qualified for this Friday’s Section Finals on the same West Valley High School track.

Dunsmuir head coach Jason Young said 8 Tiger athletes won 12 medals at the meet and continued their season-long effort of “taking it to the next level every event. They had an absolutely outstanding Division meet.”

Based on the performances of Dunsmuir’s younger athletes, Young said,  “Next year’s team is going to be strong.”
