Mount Shasta High School's soccer team won its sixth consecutive league soccer championship with style Thursday in McArthur, shutting out Fall River, 3-0, in the final regular game of the season.

Tied for first at the start of the game, Mount Shasta left no doubt about which team is No. 1 in 2011.

Matheus Lopes scored the final goal and made an assist earlier for Nils Allmang, who made an assist for Christine Holst that gave the Bears a 2-0 lead just 11 minutes into the game.

"Fall River is always a tough opponent but we controlled most of the game with a lot of passing and working the ball up the field," said assistant coach Marie Kennedy. "Matt Higer played well in the goal and had 7 saves."

Seeding for an End of Season tournament that will include teams from three leagues is scheduled to take place Saturday. The tournament will begin Tuesday. A schedule will be posted at when available.
