A foot and half was reported in McCloud Wednesday morning.

The snow was a long time coming and a welcome sight for many, including the Mt. Shasta Ski Park, which reported 24 inches of new snow overnight and 30 inches in 24 hours.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect in the Mt. Shasta area until 10 a.m. Thursday. A National Weather Service forecast is calling for 2 to 4 inches Wednesday above 2500 feet and another 3 to 6 inches Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

Prior to this storm, the most recent report from Mount Shasta National Weather Service observer Frank Christina showed seasonal precipitation to date at 13 inches, compared to last year's 29 inches and a normal of 26 inches.
