Other highlights from Thursday's action include:

Track and field: Usain Bolt continues to be the focus of the 2012 Olympics, as he earned the gold medal in the men's 200-meter dash race on Thursday. The Jamaican star loved this event at the 2008 Beijing Games, as he set a new world record with a time of 19.30 seconds to capture the gold medal.

Decathlon: Ashton Eaton staked his claim as the world's best all-around athlete with his Olympic gold-medal victory in the decathlon on Thursday. Eaton clinched his victory with a sixth-place finish in Heat 2 of the 1,500-meter run. Eaton needed to run 4:29.86 in the 1,500 meters for the Olympic record. His personal record is 4:14.48 from the Olympic trials in June. Instead, he ran a 4:33.59. This put him at 8,869 points overall.

Women's basketball: That was a close one. Team USA was given all it could handle in the first half from Australia, but it prevailed 86-73 to move on to the gold-medal game. Australia's 6'8" center Elizabeth Cambage had 19 points, as the Americans had no answer for her early.
