Pantaleon Alvarado, a lifelong resident of Weed, California, passed away at home on October 8, 2012. He was 90 years old.

Pantaleon was born on April 1, 1922 in Weed, California to Casiano and Levrada Alvarado.

He worked as a dolly operator at International Paper for 30 years; and worked as the custodian at Weed Elementary School. He also worked for Southern Pacific Railroad.

Pantaleon was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Weed. He enjoyed raising doves and gardening.

Pantaleon is survived by his son, Ruben Alvarado of Weed, California; son, Phillip Alvarado of Weed, California; daughter, Linoa Pacheco of Lake Elsinore, California; daughter, Flora Moore of Weed, California; brother, Peter Alvarado of Weed, California; brother, Efrain Alvarado of Pico Rivera, California; sister, Celia DeLeon of Los Angeles, California; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pantaleon was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Maria.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Weed.

Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
