Fred A. Bernardi, 79 of Cloverdale, California, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Fred was born to Antonio and Marguerita Bernardi and raised in Weed California. He was the youngest of seven children.
After high school he then served in the Korean War. After the war Fred married the love of his life, Virginia Isom, and moved to San Francisco where they started their family and his career in the lumber business working at Rolando Lumber Company.
In 1979 they moved to Sonoma County continuing in the lumber business which he retired from in 1990 after 31 years.
Fred loved being surrounded by family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He was a devoted husband to the late Virginia Bernardi; loving father of Steve (and Sandra), Greg (and Tamara) and Mitchell (and Cindy) Bernardi; Nono to Kevin, Mark, Craig, DJ, Derek, Luke, Adrian, Angel and Anthony Bernardi, and the late Greg Jr., Robert Bernardi; and great-grandfather to Kyle Bernardi. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Torre.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church, 491 S. Franklin Street, Cloverdale, CA 95425.
