Finishing their senior year at the top of their class, valedictorian Jessica Hatten and salutatorian Orion McRee will address the crowd that's sure to pack the DHS gymnasium Friday night, June 7.

This Friday evening, June 7, Dunsmuir High School will be a busy place as the achievements of 21 graduates are celebrated during a ceremony slated for 7 p.m.

Finishing their senior year at the top of their class, valedictorian Jessica Hatten and salutatorian Orion McRee will address the crowd that's sure to pack the DHS gymnasium.

DHS superintendent/principal Len Foreman said both Jessica and Orion "epitomize the best in students" and said he will miss them greatly next year.

Jessica and Orion said they will miss their teachers at DHS as well as their friends, who are all scattering in different directions next year.

Jessica, a lifetime resident of Dunsmuir, will attend Simpson University in Redding next year to study liberal arts. She'd like to be an elementary school teacher one day.

Orion said he plans to get his basic education at Shasta College and would like to pursue a career as an electrical engineer.
