Weed Carnevale kicks off tonight. Here's a handy schedule of events!

"Celebration of Generations 2013" is the theme for this year's Weed Carnevale, scheduled for July 10 to 14.

Returning events include a main street parade July 10 at 7 p.m., followed by community awards presentations at Centennial Plaza.

The softball and adult bocce ball tournaments are full. They begin Friday and conclude with championships Sunday afternoon at Bel Air Park.

Space is available for players in the junior bocce ball tournament Thursday at the Bel Air Park courts (age groups 7-11 and 12-18), as well as horseshoe tournaments over the weekend.

Paul Maurer Carnival rides will be joined by music and entertainment in the Park. Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings will include the Joseph Blythe Band, SlapShoeFly, Ryan Marchand and his group Doublechief, Ron Lovelace Band, 3 on a Match, Jeremy Price, Matt Kreizenbeck, Djin Aquarian, Oxprey, and The Blackwell Brothers.

The Carnival and booths open Thursday, July 11.

In an attempt to ease the flow of foot traffic and make visiting under the shade tent easier, the stage and a few booths are being relocated this year. Organizers says this is expected to create additional space for food vendors.

Carnevale is a major fundraiser for the Weed Chamber of Commerce, as well as other nonprofit organizations in the community.
