Mount Shastan John Brennan may be 75, but he is not showing any signs of slowing down.

"I wanted to celebrate my 75th birthday by summiting Mt. Shasta again so I did it this July 25," Brennan said. "We had a tradition among us guys that we would wear some bizarre clothing to celebrate special occasions, so I did that too."

The climb was Brennan's fourth ascent of the mountain. He dedicated it to Paul Engstrom and his efforts for the 2013 Climb Against the Odds breast cancer climb. Engstrom raised $11,337.50 and climbed to approximately 11,000 feet. Engstrom has been an important part of the event numerous times.

"During my climb between 11,000 feet and the summit I focused on completing Paul's effort and honoring his dedication to the causes supporting breast cancer research," Brennan said.

Brennan also thanked one of Mount Shasta's newest doctors. He said, "On telling this story I cannot fail to mention the excellent and effective medical care provided me by Dr. Mike Staszel who aggressively treated a potential infection on my right heel which otherwise would have prevented my ascent. Thanks Dr. Mike!"
