Leah H. Coplan passed away peacefully on March 20, 2013 at Redbud Care Homes in Redding, California.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Les; and mom and dad, Nora and Clarence Haskell.

She is survived by her niece, Patricia (Coplan) King (and Bryan); cousins: Johanna Weeks, Maxine Baker and Stanley Noyes; sister-in-law. Donna Coplan; and many dear Friends.

Leah was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and grew up in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. She went to college and became a medical technologist.

Leah met Les in Watertown, South Dakota where they were married. Eventually they went to Minneapolis to live. Leah worked in a doctor’s office.

After some very cold Minnesota winters they decided to move to sunny California. They lived in Almaden and Milbrae.

After retirement they moved to Weed, California and built a beautiful home in Lake Shastina where they could play golf daily and bowl nightly.

Leah was an accomplished artist, played the organ, was an avid golfer, loved bowling, did TaiChi, and was a very good cook and she loved to party!

Leah left a piece of herself in the hearts of each of us. We will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Leah’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lake Shastina Golf Club.

A private burial was held at the Winema Cemetery in Weed. For more information you may call Maxine Baker in Minnesota at 651-231-6762.
