Isidoro G. Topete, 89 year old Weed resident, passed away September 6, 2013 at Twin Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Chico, CA.

Isidoro was born October 19, 1923 in Mexico to Mariano Topete and Rosario Gonzales. He worked as a Rancher in Mexico.

He married Josefina Topete on May 26, 1951 in Mexico. The couple moved to the US in 1962, and settled in Weed, CA.

Isidoro worked for Southern Pacific Railroad, International Paper Company and for Hunter's Orchards. Isidoro was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Weed.

Isidoro is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Josefina Topete. He is survived by their children, Colonel Hector Topete of Orangevale, and Janet Topete- Tallerico of Chico; three grandchildren, Hector Jr. Topete, Monique Tallerico and Anthony Tallerico all of Chico; one great grandchild, Alexis Topete of Utah; eight siblings Juan Topete, Anita Topete, Rafael Topete, Antonia Angel, Rafaela Curiel, Clementina Curiel, Marciano Topete, and Fidel Topete.

Isidoro was loved by all who knew him well and will be remembered as being a hardworking, honorable and colorful person.

His stories were entertaining, interesting and educational, lesson #1 being, "Take it easy". He always went out of his way to help those in need.

Isidoro and Josefina sacrificed so much to give their children opportunities for a fulfilled life.
