It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the loss of Larry Bianco, our very beloved brother and uncle. Larry passed away peacefully on March 2, 2014 at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, California.
Larry was born on August 6, 1928 in Weed, California. He was the fifth child of Francesco and Caterina Bianco and is survived by his sister, Caroline Carpine of Weed and brother, Sam of Richmond.
His sisters, Mary Farnea and Rosie Robison, predeceased him a number of years ago. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews who were very devoted to him.
Larry was a long tenured employee of International Paper Company/Long Bell until he retired. Larry was a lifelong resident of Weed until October 2013, when he moved into Amber Oaks Assisted Living in Redding where he was surrounded by many loving family members.
Larry was an avid sports fan and loved the 49ers and the S.F. Giants. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and will also be remembered as an outstanding bowler and as a phenomenal dancer. Larry was a well-known figure and well regarded in the Weed Community.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Weed.
Interment services will occur at the Mt. Shasta Memorial Park in Mount Shasta; followed by a reception at St. Michael’s Hall in Weed.
