The Weed Cougars (5-1) are scheduled to host Fall River (4-2) in a key Shasta Cascade League baseball doubleheader today, May 2, beginning at 2 p.m. at Son's Park in Weed.

The Weed High School baseball team goes into Friday’s home doubleheader against Fall River on top of the Shasta Cascade League standings with a 5-1 record.

Weed (11-2 overall) easily swept Trinity Tuesday in Weaverville, 12-5 and 14-4.

Fall River comes into Friday’s twinbill a game behind the Cougars at 4-2 and is also coming off a lopsided sweep of Trinity Monday in McArthur, 15-2 and 23-17.

Etna is 6-2 in league, losing only to Weed in an April 11 doubleheader in Weed.

Fall River is scheduled to host Etna May 6 before playing at Mount Shasta (3-3) May 9.

Weed is scheduled to play at Modoc (4-4) May 9.
