CAL FIRE's Siskiyou Unit reported that full containment of a 10 acre vegetation fire behind Roseburg Mill in Weed is expected by Monday, June 9.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's Siskiyou Unit says it received multiple 911 calls about a vegetation fire behind Roseburg Mill in Weed around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

CAL FIRE said "a quick and aggressive response from fire crews" limited the fire to 10 acres. 

The fire was 80% contained and the cause was under investigation as of 8:40 p.m. Sunday.

Crews responded from CAL FIRE, the US Forest Service, and multiple local government departments, according to the CAL FIRE press release. Ground crews were assisted by air attack, four air tankers and three helicopters.

CAL FIRE said crews would be working through the night and tomorrow to get full containment.
