Jennifer Kathryn (Ray) Brunson passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek, California.

Jennifer was comforted and tended to by members of her loving family. She was 51 years of age, having been a diabetic since the age of seven.

Jennifer is survived by her son, Donovan Jaymes Brunson and her daughter, Kaylin Marin Brunson, both of Vallejo, California. She leaves behind her mother and father, Jim and Sharon Ray of Weed; her sister, Julie Copeland (and Tim); her brothers, James Ray (and Marianne), and Jon Ray; as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Jennifer was born on November 17, 1962. She was a graduate of Weed Elementary School, Weed High School, and College of the Siskiyous, playing on the basketball and track teams at WHS and COS.

She went on to earn her Master’s of Arts degree in Social Welfare from California State University, Sacramento as a single parent.

Jennie supported her children in their many school athletic and academic events. She assisted the girls basketball teams at Butteville Elementary School.

She dedicated much of her energies to local horseback riding groups and their activities, including Side Kicks, Shasta Valley equine and local 4-H projects

She was a very dedicated and active member of her family and their families. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at the Weed Grace Presbyterian Church, 1090 N. Davis Avenue in Weed, with Reverend Ray Horst officiating.
