Josephine Scalise, a lifetime resident of Weed, California, was born into eternal rest on January 26, 2015 at Madrone Hospice in Yreka, California. She was 88 years old.
Josie was born on August 14, 1926. She worked as a bank teller for 41 years.
Josie was a life member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Weed; a very active president of the Women’s Society; chairman of the Spring Fling; and a member of the Gourmet Club.
Josie was an expert golfer, a dedicated crafter, and serious baker. She loved traveling around the US playing in golf tournaments; and also traveled the world.
Josie was a great, loyal friend to others and helped many.
Josie is survived by her sister, Mary Rose Lipscomb of Weed, California; sister, Antoinette Marie Scalise of Weed, California; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Josie was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Scalise.
A Rosary and Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Mount Shasta.
Josie will be interred at the Winema Cemetery in Weed.
