Mount Shasta’s Cami Brooks said she gained lots of experience last week after performing in a call back audition for the NBC show, “The Voice,” though she didn't make it through the second round.

“I got to perform in the studio but didn't move on,” said Cami, a 14 year old freshman at Mount Shasta High School. “The producer was puzzled by my age and told me to come back next year... On the bright side, I made it through the first round. I received more information about how the music industry works, what they're looking for, and plan to return next year with a vengeance.”

This was the first year Cami was eligible to try out for the show, which has been a goal of hers for many years.
