McCloud Artesian Spring Water Company is scheduled to lead a discussion/presentation about the sale of water and details of its proposed small water bottling facility during the March 18 McCloud Community Services District Public Works Committee meeting.

The discussion/presentation is the only item on the agenda for the meeting, which is open to the public and scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Scout Hall in McCloud.

Items to be discussed include:

• Proposed location

• Employment

• Proposed water volumes

• Water purchase rates and schedules

• Proposed shared cost – MCSD water line installation project

• Proposed schedule

• Marketing and branding

• Company’s community outreach during the approval process.

During its March 9 regular meeting, the McCloud CSD board appointed general manager Wayne Grigsby and directors Anne Simons and Terry Hitchcock to negotiate terms of a proposed agreement to sell water to McCloud Artesian Spring Water Company.

Although that meeting’s original posted agenda item called for a presentation of the proposed contract at the next board meeting, some directors expressed concern that negotiations might take longer than that.

No time frame was put on the item the board actually approved, which calls for bringing “the proposed contract to the board with a presentation before it goes to the attorney for approval.”
