Manuel (Manny) H. Cadena, a resident of Lake Shastina, California, passed away at his home on March 14, 2015, due to liver cancer and congestive heart disease. He was 84 years old.
Manny was born in El Paso, Texas on June 19, 1930. He moved to Lake Shastina in October 2003.
He graduated from Marshal High School in Los Angeles; and attended the University of California, Los Angeles.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea from 1951 to 1953.
Manny was a post president of Optimists of Cerritos, California, 1980. He enjoyed football, reading and tennis.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Cadena of Lake Shastina; children: Laura Cadena and Ray of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, Paul and Melissa Cadena of Long Beach, California, and Matt Cadena of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepchildren: Curtis Blackwell and family of Carson City, Nevada, and Cherie Goff and family of Nashville, Arkansas; aunt, Vera Henderson and son Bill Norkin of Los Angeles, California; aunt, Josephine Cass and son Brian (and Jeanette and sons); cousin, Anna Mendosa and family; and cousin Carlos Lozano and family.
A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
