In memory of Doris Ardell Caldwell, she passed away on March 20, 2015.
Doris was born on December 4, 1926 in Fort Bragg, California to George and Ardell Bowers.
She married Desmond Caldwell in Reno, Nevada in 1945.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Desmond; and mother, Ardell Bowers of Big Springs, California.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Bonnie Caldwell of Windsor, California; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Barbara Bowers; and numerous cousins, friends, and expecially dear friend, Verjean Lane.
Living formally in Big Springs for 24 years, Doris was a member of the Big Springs Community Church; Big Springs Ladies Sewing Circle; and Big Springs Breakfast Club.
Doris worked for the US Forest Service in Yreka, California for 13 years. She was a volunteer of Hospice; and was a member of the Yreka Covenant Chapel.
She attended school in many cities and graduated from Benicia High School in Benicia, California. She worked in Healdsburg, California at the Veterinary Hospital and Sprouse Reitz.
Her hobbies were crocheting, reading, gardening and movies. She was a great admirer and collector of John Wayne.
No services are planned. Cremation was at Girdner’s Funeral Chapel.
