Monty passed away at his Soda Creek residence, with his loving wife Marsha Hunter, his daughter Sheila VanDyk and his lifelong friend Gary Carr by his side. Monty was born in Shelly Idaho and moved to his Soda Creek home at the age of twelve. During Monty’s Dunsmuir High School years, basketball was his passion and dunking the ball was easy due to his extreme jumping capabilities. The field of work he chose, as a heavy equipment operator, allowed the experience of many travel opportunities.

Monty cherished every moment he spent with his family and friends. The outdoors was a big part of his life as well, in his youth he enjoyed hunting, fishing and fast cars.

Monty spent his lifetime restoring cars and mechanically fixing anything with a motor on it.

During his retirement years he enjoyed woodcutting, gardening and restoring his Victorian childhood home. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold, always ready to lend a quiet helping hand.

Monty was proceeded in death by: his father- Forrest Leroy Hunter and his nephew-Brody Christensen.

Monty leaves behind his mother - Judith McBride Christensen (Reed), of Shelly, Idaho; his wife of thirty one year’s Marsha Marie Hunter of Castella Ca; his daughter - Sheila Marie Vandyk (Fred), of Reedsport Or; his son - Forrest Troy Hunter (Helen) of Shelly Idaho; his son-Glenn Richardson Hix, of Gridley Ca; daughter-Conra Jean Hunter of Boise Idaho; and daughter-Deidra Jody Perry (Jason) of Gridley CA. His siblings: sister- Marsha Christensen (Lynn) of Pierce, Az; brother-Wally Hunter of Yuma Az; brother-Tony Hunter (Linda) of Sandy, Utah; brother-Jack Hunter (Sally) of Meridian, Ca; brother-Randy Hunter (Sue) of Ocala, Florida; sister- Judy Kirkham (Dave) Orem, Utah; and sister-Frankie Crouse (Dana) of Cottonwood, Ca.

His grandchildren: Alyssa Chavarin, Bre- Anne Pickens, Randy Hix, Drew Pickens, Gabriel Perry, Jayce Hix, Jordan Perry, Andrew Hix, Taylor Perry; and great-grandchildren: Melanie Tayler and ChloeTayler.

Monty also leaves behind many loved extended family members, as well as his church family from The Church of Jesus Christ, LDS.

Monty truly loved and lived the gospel.
