Kathleen (Callaghan) Linden, a resident of Mount Shasta, California, passed away on March 27, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California.

Kathleen was born on December 18, 1934 and grew up close to Detroit, Michigan. She moved to San Francisco in 1954, where she met Gary Linden. They married in 1957 and lived in San Francisco for five years.

Moving to Pacifica, California, Kathleen worked for the Pacifica Police Department, while Gary worked for Tab Products.

They and four children moved to Mount Shasta in 1973 after purchasing the KOA Kampground and operated it for five years. Then Gary became a realtor and Kathleen worked for the State of California and Siskiyou County.

Kathleen was a happy gardener/book lover; Gary was a happy motorcycle rider. Together they were avid travelers and traveled extensively nationwide and worldwide.

Gary passed away in 2007; they were married for 50 years.

Kathleen is survived by children: Scott Linden of Mount Shasta, Nora Amaral of Weed, Catherine Tona of Rio Dell, and Lisa Osterheld of Washington DC.

Kathleen’s surviving siblings are: Loretta Bush and Dale Callaghan of Citrus Heights, and Doug Callaghan of Fenton, Michigan.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were parents, Wilhelmina and Russell Callaghan; sister, Josephine Fay; brothers, Dennis and Tom Callaghan.

A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at the Mount Shasta City Park, main building.
