David Wayne Parker, a longtime resident of McCloud, California, passed away on March 22, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta, California. He was 77 years old.

David was born in San Jose, California on February 24, 1938 to Calvin and Vennette Parker.

David was the co-owner and operator of a medical transport company (ambulance company) for 30 years, and he was one of the first paramedics in Siskiyou County.

David served as the president of the California Ambulance Association for three terms, and was instrumental in upgrading legislation for ambulance companies.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Fremont, California; coached Little League; and as a hobby, really enjoyed building model railroads. David was an independent natural leader and a hard worker. He is very much missed.

David is survived by his wife, Retha Parker of McCloud; son, Steven Parker of Sausalito, California; daughter, Roxann Parker of McCloud; sister, Deanna Pimentelof Prineville, Oregon; sister, Sharon Anderson of Medford, Oregon; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
