Elaine Christine Hamb passed on April 27, 2015 and is now living for all eternity in heaven with our Lord and Savior.

Elaine was born to Arthur Ludwig and Viola May Nelson in Klickitat, Washington on February 3, 1925. The Nelson family moved to McCloud, California in 1937, where she was raised and educated.

Elaine met her future husband, William Lonzo Hamb, in Redding, California in 1943 and the couple was married in February 1944.

Elaine moved to west Virginia after marrying William and later attended Beauty School in Detroit, Michigan.

William and Elaine moved back to McCloud after he was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps soon after World War II ended.

Elaine worked as a beautician for many years, owned her own salon, and later retired and worked part-time for the US Forest Service as an office administrator.

The couple enjoyed square dancing and round dancing. Elaine loved music and loved her family dearly. Her favorite place to visit was the ocean and anywhere her family was.

She kept her mind sharp by reading, doing puzzles, and she enjoyed watching Jeopardy and answering the questions every evening. She kept her hands busy with crocheting.

William predeceased Elaine in 2004, the couple had been married for 60 years.

William and Elaine had four children: Christine Lynn Rodgers, deceased in 2003; Billie Jean McNeill of Sunnyvale, California; Arthur Nelson Hamb (and Shirley) of Hiouchi, California; and Susan Arlene Vandemark (and Gary) of battle Mountain, Nevada.

Elaine is also survived by eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; and her sister, Dolores Nelson of Folsom, California.

You will always be in our hearts; God blessed us with a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and best friend forever. You will be missed.
