Gary Woods, a resident of Mount Shasta, California, died unexpectedly on May 25, 2015 at the age of 68 in Redding, California.

Gary was born in Colusa, California on January 6, 1947 to Amanda and Samuel Woods. He graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a degree in Business and had a commercial banking career that spanned 40 years.

Gary was a devoted husband and father, avid golfer, and enjoyed most sports related activities including baseball, fishing and hiking.

He and his wife Roxanne built a house in Mount Shasta and after retirement made it their permanent home.

Gary was actively involved in the community and readily accepted the opportunity to use his love of baseball in coaching the Mount Shasta High School baseball team.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne Woods of Mount Shasta; his two sons, Jason Woods (and wife Heather) of Palm Springs and Aaron Woods (and wife Stacy) of Colusa; two step-daughters, Wendy Worrell (and family) of Eldorado Hills and Tricia Kotal (and family) of Sacramento; and one sister, Donna Stokes (and husband Bob) of Colusa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Woods and his mother, Amanda Bessie Woods, both of Colusa, California.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6 at noon at the Martindale Field at Shastice Park in Mount Shasta. An exhibition baseball game will follow.
