Barbara Jean Zanni, a resident of Redding, California, passed away on June 26, 2015. She was 78 years old.

She was born in Rexburg, Idaho and moved at a young age to Mount Shasta, California where she attended school.

Barbara married Robert Zanni of McCloud, California and they raised five children: Richard, Mary, Frankie Lynn, Allison and Robert II. They owned Zanni’s Chevron in McCloud.

She attended Heald College in Sacramento and later graduated from Shasta College Culinary program and obtained her Dietary Supervisor certificate at Butte College.

She worked in the commercial food industry until her retirement, at which time she enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and continued her love of cooking. She found joy in her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her dog Elouise.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughters, Mary and Frankie Lynn.

She is survived by her children: Richard (and Vicky) Zanni of Mount Shasta, Allison Zanni of Corning, and Robert (and Teri Lynn) Zanni II of Redding; brothers, Frank (and Barbara) Mason of Chehalis, Washington, Dale (and Velma) Mason of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Donald (and Sharon) Mason of Vancouver, Washington.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Monday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at the gazebo area in Hoo Hoo Park in McCloud.
