Jack Duane Pratt, 78, of Mount Shasta, California, died peacefully on July 12, 2015, under the care of hospice at Brookdale Assisted Living Community in Yreka, California.
Jack was born on June 25, 1937 in Redding, California to George and Ina Pratt.
He married Marlene Vanni in 1959 and they settled in Mount Shasta in 1961.
Jack retired from College of the Siskiyous in 1999, where he had been employed for 17 years as a maintenance worker. Prior to working at the college, he was a carpenter and owned Vanni’s Builders and Supply in Mount Shasta.
Jack enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing/hunting, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene; children: Mark (and Lynn) Pratt of Davis, Phillip (and Melody) Pratt of Mount Shasta, and Melanie (and David) Fernandes of San Jose; grandchildren: Kelly Pratt, Jobe Pratt, Trinity Fernandes, Jordan Fernandes, and Lauren Pratt; sister-in-law, Loretta Benkosky of Mount Shasta; niece, Marie (Benkosky) Manning of Tigard, Oregon; great-niece, Amanda Manning; and brother, Dennis Pratt of Redding.
