A wildland fire that burned 24.4 acres and destroyed one outbuilding near Dorris near the California-Oregon border is 100 percent contained as of early Wednesday evening, July 22, 2015.

The wildland fire started by lightning Tuesday evening in northern Siskiyou County is 100 percent contained as of early Wednesday evening.

One outbuilding was destroyed and 24.4 burned approximately two miles north-east of Dorris on the California-Oregon border off Stateline Hwy 161 and Hwy 97, according to a final incident update from CAL FIRE Siskiyou Unit.

Highway 97 was temporarily closed in the area Tuesday night and precautionary evacuations were in place for a short time.

Cooperating agencies were Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Dorris Fire, Butte Valley Fire, Klamath National Forest, Oregon Department of Forestry, Pleasant Valley Fire and Mayten Fire.
