Lenore Elizabeth Davis, a former resident of Edgewood, California, passed away on August 28, 2015.
Lenore was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 21, 1932. She moved to California in 1951, where she and her husband, Bill Davis, began a life and home in San Diego; eventually residing and raising their family in Santee.
Lenore was a homemaker, raising her five children, and helping in raising many of her grandchildren.
She was a very educated woman. She went back to college and in 1990, she was the valedictorian when she received her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. She worked clerical positions at times.
After the death of her only son in 1980, she founded and became president of the San Diego Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children. She was also active in the Tops program in the Mt. Shasta area for many years.
Lenore is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill Davis; four daughters: Barbara Davis, Patty Davis Schiano, Lynn Farrell and Mary Derrick; six grandchildren: Amber Davis, Christopher Davis, Christine Phillips, David Schiano, Brooke Smith and Angela Schiano; and eight great-grandchildren: Justa Davis-Nichols, Jacob Davis, Jayden Smith, Kaydence Smith, Alona and Allison Davis, Jason Smith and Alexis Edge.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jim Davis.
There is not a person in this world that has met her that are not made better for it. She was our best friend, confidant, partner, comforter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, Gigi, sister and friend to many.
We know you will continue to watch over all of us and we will make you proud. You will be missed everyday.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood.
