Joseph Frederick Melton was born on June 8, 1974 in Martinez, California. He moved to Siskiyou County at the age of one, and spent the majority of his childhood in McCloud. He graduated from McCloud High School in 1992.

After a rocky few years of young adulthood, Joe made his way to Alaska where he met his wife, started a family, and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Charter College.

He was a Senior Network Infrastructure Consultant at Arctic Information Technologies.

In his spare time, Joe enjoyed life with his family, fishing, camping, playing guitar, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Joe joined his dad, Steve Melton, in the next life on September 26, 2015.

He will be forever loved and missed by his mom and stepdad, Rachel and Tom Marley of McCloud; brother, Matt (and Dawn) of Collinsville, Illinois; sisters, Kathy (and Brian) Wilson of Dunsmuir, and Darci (and Aaron) Everett of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; his wife, Marla and children Joseph and Kaytlyn of Anchorage; daughter, Madison of Aloha, Oregon; stepchildren: Amber, Josh, Geoff, Vanessa and Tiffany; many nieces and nephews, including his extra special niece, Trinity, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; and many, many friends.

There is so much about Joe that cannot all fit here. He was an artist, musician and fisherman. Most of all, Joe was a good man. He was a great father, husband, son and brother. He left us much too soon.

There will be a memorial gathering at Round Table Pizza in Mount Shasta on Friday, October 16 at 5 p.m. for friends and family to come together and remember Joe. All other services will be private.
