New McCloud Community Resource Center Executive Director Lisa McCauley says her goal is to rebuild funding and develop more programs “that meet the varied needs of McCloud’s residents.”

Hired in September, McCauley has been in Siskiyou County since 2006 and previously worked as an EMT with Northern Siskiyou and Mt. Shasta Ambulance.

A McCloud resident, she described her new position as “a good fit. I love helping people and I love our community. It is also a good challenge.”

She said her mission is to offer services and resources to meet the McCloud community's needs.

Working on building partnerships with programs such as First 5 Siskiyou, Great Northern Services, Siskiyou Community Services Council, and the Family Resource Center Network, McCauley is planning programs for low income, children, seniors and veterans in the McCloud community.

The McCloud Community Resource Center is open Monday through Thursday at 304 West Minnesota Ave.

They offer computer, printer, phone and fax use, information and referrals for domestic violence, child and senior abuse, and application assistance for Healthy Families, financial aid and In Home Supportive Services.

McCloud Community Resource Center is in need of volunteers to help with its many programs. They are also reaching out for input about programs and needs in the community.

McCloud Alumni Association, McCloud Market, McCloud Mercantile, McCloud Outdoors, Kyode Cafe, General Produce, Community Garden, American Legion Cheula Post 92, McCloud churches, high school and elementary school have all sponsored and supported programs and workshops offered throughout the year.

Current Resource Center board members are Margot Grissom, Anne Mero and Joan Dillon.
