Inland Isle Players present Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 17 at 3 p.m. at the Yreka Community Theater, 812 N. Oregon Street in Yreka.

We are so blessed to have a quality local acting group in The Inland Isle Players.

I recently previewed their upcoming play, Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Knowing many of the players, I was very impressed with the talent, work and creativity that they bring to their parts.

The costumes are wonderful and the sets are simple, but you will see an amazing scene where the ship is tossed at sea and you will see the elements and elemental brought to life through Eurythmy in a new way.

The Tempest was Shakespeare’s last play and as with many of his other plays, he brings in all of the human qualities that we are all capable of. In this play, forgiveness plays a major role, as do humor, anger and love.

So don’t miss one of the performances at the Yreka Community Theatre this coming Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. We have Shakespeare right in our own local area and you don’t want to miss it.

Thank you to all of the players for bringing The Tempest to life.
