Mark Paul Neuman, a resident of Mount Shasta, California, died peacefully at his home on November 14, 2016, with his wife Jenny and daughter Shannon at his side. Mark was a spiritual man, full of life and health, who knew how to love.
Mark was born on September 1, 1947 to Del and Betty Neuman in San Rafael, California. He moved to Siskiyou County in 1981.
Always interested in the outdoors, he loved the outdoor life this area provided. He was an avid hiker, Telemark and Nordic skier, cyclist, and was training for his second attempt at climbing Mt. Shasta.
He retired as bottling plant manager for Mt. Shasta Spring Water five years ago, and continued his education in physics and math.
During these years, he truly became an artist with his camera and a magnificent self-trained chef and baker.
Mark is survived by his wife of many years, Jenny Purtle; and his only daughter, Shannon Neuman of Dunsmuir.
He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed. He is forever in our hearts, and is now at peace.
A celebration of Mark’s life is being planned. Friends who would like to attend may call 926-1808 for more details.
Arrangements are in the care of Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
